Summary of Experience

Ms. Eklund began her career in the late 1970s with the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in New Orleans as an Inspector Industrial Hygienist. During the 1980s, she held responsible health and safety positions with chemical operations, a major mining company, an asbestos abatement consulting firm, a hazardous waste remediation company, and a hazardous waste consulting company. Responsible for the formulation of industrial health policies for the company's domestic properties: mines (gold, kaolin, potash), Frasch-process sulfur mines, phosphoric acid operation, and uranium recovery operations. Vice-chair of the TSCA 8(e) Substantial Risk Assessment Committee. Company representative on occupational health committees of the American Mining Congress, The Fertilizer Institute, and the China Clay Producers Group. Instrumental in presentation of in-house seminars on environmental concerns.
 
She has served on major trade association Health and Safety Committees and represented her company on epidemiological study committees. She has participated actively in the medical surveillance activities of hazardous waste remediation companies and the required HAZWOPER training.

During the late 1980s and 1990s, Ms. Eklund served as Regional Health and Safety Manager of Chemical Waste Management (ENRAC Division) in Houston, Texas and as Gulf Regional Health and Safety Manager with Du Pont Environmental. In 1995, she joined Compliance Solutions, Inc. to consult on a broad range of health and safety assessments, risk assessments, and process hazard reviews. She has recently entered private practice and continues to consult for the petrochemical industry in the Gulf Coast area.

During this period, Ms. Eklund was responsible for the health and safety plans for several Superfund sites and voluntary cleanup activities of major proportion. These remediation activities included PCB contaminated soil removal, pesticide contaminated soil removal, solidification, cap and cover on site, pump and treat systems for containment of plumes and similar operations. She also provided the health and safety for closure of an abandoned oil well, the drilling and installation of a new injection well and maintenance of existing injection wells.

She has been involved in teaching Industrial Hygiene and Health and Safety at Delgado Junior College (New Orleans), Tulane University (New Orleans), Ms. Eklund served as a Primary Lecturer for The Institute of Environmnetal Technology (IET), in Houston, Texas.

She presently plays a significant role as the Manager of Health & Safety for M. D. Campbell and Associates, L.P.
