PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
ODOURLESS AND COLOURLESS CRYSTALS,
WITH BITTER TASTE.
PHYSICAL DANGERS:
CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes
on heating and
on burning
producing toxic fumes such as nitrogen oxides.
Reacts with strong oxidants,
causing fire and explosion hazard.
OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV: ppm; 0.15 mg/m3 (as TWA) (ACGIH 1992-1993).
OSHA PEL: TWA 0.15 mg/m3
NIOSH REL: TWA 0.15 mg/m3
NIOSH IDLH: 3 mg/m3
|
ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body
by inhalation of its aerosol and
by ingestion.
INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly when dispersed, especially if powdered.
