  • INHALATION
    		• Burning sensation. Cough. Laboured breathing. Shortness of breath. Sore throat. Symptoms may be delayed (see Notes).
    		Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
    		Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Artificial respiration if indicated. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
    		• Redness. Skin burns. Pain. Blisters.
    		Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
    		Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower. Refer for medical attention.
  • EYES
    		• Redness. Pain. Loss of vision. Severe deep burns.
    		Face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
    		• Abdominal pain. Burning sensation. Shock or collapse, (see Inhalation).
    		Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
    		Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Evacuate danger area! Consult an expert! Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in dry sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment, (extra personal protection: complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus).
    		Separated from strong bases. Dry.

    PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
     COLOURLESS TO YELLOW LIQUID , WITH PUNGENT ODOUR. TURNS YELLOW ON EXPOSURE TO AIR/LIGHT.

    PHYSICAL DANGERS:
     The vapour is heavier than air.

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
     The substance decomposes under influence of moist air, producing chlorine, sulphur oxide, sulphuric acid and hydrogen chloride. Reacts violently with water. Attacks many metals in presence of water.

    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):

    		ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its vapour

    INHALATION RISK:
     A harmful contamination of the air can be reached very quickly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
     The substance is corrosive to the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. Inhalation of the vapour may cause lung oedema (see Notes). The substance may cause effects on the respiratory tract. Exposure may result in death. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated.

    The symptoms of lung oedema often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort. Rest and medical observation is therefore essential. Immediate administration of an appropriate spray, by a doctor or a person authorized by him/her, should be considered. Do NOT take working clothes home. Do NOT use in the vicinity of a fire or a hot surface, or during welding.
