  • INHALATION
    		• Shortness of breath (see Ingestion).
    		Avoid inhalation of fine dust and mist. Ventilation (not if powder), local exhaust, or breathing protection.
    		Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN

    		• Protective gloves.
    		Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.
  • EYES

    		• Safety goggles.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
    		• Dizziness. Nausea. Unconsciousness. Vomiting. Weakness.
    		Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
    		Rinse mouth. Refer for medical attention.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Do NOT wash away into sewer. Sweep spilled substance into covered containers; if appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment.
    		Separated from oxidants, bases. Cool. Dry.

     COLOURLESS CRYSTALS.

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
     The substance decomposes on heating or on burning producing toxic and corrosive fumes including hydrogen chloride and phosgene. When heated with sodium hydroxide and solvent (methanol or ethylene glycol) to prepare trichlorophenol, serious explosions have occurred.

     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol and by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
     Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly on spraying or when dispersed, especially if powdered.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
     The substance may cause effects on the central nervous system.

    EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
     The substance may have effects on the kidneys, liver, lungs and thyroid , resulting in tissue lesions.
