STRICT HYGIENE! AVOID EXPOSURE OF (PREGNANT) WOMEN!

  • INHALATION
    		• Weakness. Tremors. Convulsions (see Ingestion).
    		Local exhaust or breathing protection.
    		Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
    		• MAY BE ABSORBED! Redness.
    		Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
    		Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention.
  • EYES
    		• Redness.
    		Safety goggles or face shield.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
    		• Diarrhoea. Dizziness. Headache. Nausea. Vomiting.
    		Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
    		Rinse mouth. Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!). Refer for medical attention.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Sweep spilled substance into containers. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment (extra personal protection: P2 filter respirator for harmful particles).

     The substance decomposes on heating or on burning producing toxic fumes (phosgene - see ICSC # 0007, hydrogen chloride - see ICSC # 0163).

    		ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol, through the skin or by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
     Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
     The substance irritates the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the central nervous system. Exposure may result in death.

    EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
     The substance may have effects on the blood, liver, kidney, oestrogens concentration and testes. This substance is possibly carcinogenic to humans. Animal tests show that this substance possibly causes toxic effects upon human reproduction.

    NOTES
    This compound is a component of the insecticide hexachlorocyclohexane (isomer mixture). It is not commercially formulated alone. Data are insufficiently available on the effect of this substance on human health, therefore utmost care must be taken. Do NOT take working clothes home. Also consult ICSC # 0487.
