FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Combustible. Many reactions may cause fire or explosion. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO open flames. NO contact with hot surfaces.
Powder, water spray, foam, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION Above 56°C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed.
Above 56°C use a closed system, ventilation.
In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.
EXPOSURE
PREVENT GENERATION OF MISTS!

  • INHALATION
    		• Cough. Headache. Laboured breathing. Sore throat. Unconsciousness.
    		Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
    		Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Artificial respiration if indicated. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
    		• MAY BE ABSORBED! Redness (further see Inhalation).
    		Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
    		Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention.
  • EYES
    		• Redness.
    		Safety goggles, face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
    		• Burning sensation (further see Inhalation).
    		Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
    		Rinse mouth. Refer for medical attention.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. Do NOT wash away into sewer.
    		Separated from l strong oxidants, strong bases, strong acids, food and feedstuffs. Tightly closed. Cool. Ventilation along the floor.
    		Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

     CLEAR COLOURLESS LIQUID , WITH PUNGENT ODOUR.

    PHYSICAL DANGERS:
     The vapour is heavier than air.

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
     On contact with hot surfaces or flames this substance decomposes forming toxic and flammable vapours. Reacts with strong oxidants, reducing agents, acids, bases, steam, producing highly toxic and flammable fumes.

    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
     TLV not established.


    		ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol, through the skin and by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
     No indication can be given about the rate in which a harmful concentration in the air is reached on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
     The substance irritates the eyes, the skin, and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the cellular respiration , resulting in vital function deficiency.
