EXPLOSION Above 80°C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed.
Above 80°C use a closed system, ventilation.

PREVENT GENERATION OF MISTS! STRICT HYGIENE!
IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR!
  • INHALATION
    		• Blue lips or finger nails. Blue skin. Cough. Dizziness. Headache. Laboured breathing. Sore throat.
    		Local exhaust or breathing protection.
    		Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
    		• MAY BE ABSORBED! Redness. Pain (Further see Inhalation).
    		Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
    		Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower. Refer for medical attention.
  • EYES
    		• Redness. Pain.
    		Face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
    		• Abdominal pain. Blue lips or fingernails. Blue skin. Dizziness. Headache. Laboured breathing. Nausea.
    		Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
    		Rinse mouth. Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!). Refer for medical attention.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment (extra personal protection: complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus).
    		Separated from strong oxidants, strong acids, food and feedstuffs. Cool. Keep in a well-ventilated room.
    		Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

    PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
     COLOURLESS OR SLIGHTLY YELLOW OILY LIQUID, TURNS BROWN ON EXPOSURE TO AIR.

    PHYSICAL DANGERS:

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
     The substance decomposes on heating and on burning producing toxic fumes including aniline, nitrogen oxides. Reacts violently with strong acids and oxidants. Attacks some plastic.

    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
     TLV: 0.5 ppm; 2.2 mg/m3 (skin) (ACGIH 1992-1993).
    OSHA PEL: TWA 2 ppm (9 mg/m3) skin
    NIOSH REL: TWA 0.5 ppm (2 mg/m3) skin
    NIOSH IDLH: 100 ppm


    		ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its vapour, by inhalation of its aerosol, through the skin, by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
     A harmful contamination of the air can be reached rather quickly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
     The substance irritates the eyes, the skin, the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the blood , resulting in formation of methaemoglobin. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated. See Notes.

    EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
     Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization as for other aromatic amines. The substance may have effects on the blood (see short-trem exposure) , resulting in formation of methaemoglobin.
