PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST! AVOID ALL CONTACT! AVOID EXPOSURE OF ADOLESCENTS AND CHILDREN!
IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR!
  • INHALATION
    		• Confusion. Cough. Headache. Muscle tremors. Laboured breathing. Nausea. Unconsciousness. Symptoms may be delayed (see Notes).
    		Local exhaust or breathing protection.
    		Fresh air, rest. Artificial respiration if indicated.
  • SKIN
    		• MAY BE ABSORBED! Redness. Pain (further see Inhalation).
    		Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
    		First rinse with plenty of water, then remove contaminated clothes and rinse again. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Wear protective gloves when administering first aid.
  • EYES
    		• Redness. Pain.
    		Safety goggles or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
    		• Abdominal cramps. Confusion. Diarrhoea. Headache. Nausea. Unconsciousness. Vomiting.
    		Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
    		Rinse mouth. Give a slurry of activated charcoal in water to drink. Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!). Rest.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Do NOT wash away into sewer. Sweep spilled substance into containers. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place (extra personal protection: P3 filter respirator for toxic particles).
    		Separated from strong oxidants, strong bases, food and feedstuffs. Tightly closed. Cool.
    		Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

    		ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol, through the skin and by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
     Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
     The substance irritates the eyes, the skin, and the respiratory tract. Inhalation of dust may cause lung oedema (see Notes). The substance may cause effects on the liver and kidneys.

         		This substance may be hazardous to the environment; special attention should be given to water and fish.
    NOTES
    Other melting points: 185°C (dimorphic form). The substance is combustible but no flash point is available in literature. Depending on the degree of exposure, periodic medical examination is indicated. The symptoms of lung oedema often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort. Rest and medical observation is therefore essential. Immediate administration of an appropriate spray, by a doctor or a person authorized by him/her, should be considered. Specific treatment is necessary in case of poisoning with this substance; the appropriate means with instructions must be available. Tubatoxin, Prentox, Rotocide, Barbasco, Chem Fish, Cube, Deril are trade names.
