FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO open flames.
Powder, water spray, foam, carbon dioxide. Fire fighters should wear complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus.
EXPLOSION Above 75°C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed.
Above 75°C use a closed system, ventilation.
In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.
EXPOSURE
PREVENT GENERATION OF MISTS!

  • INHALATION
    		• Headache. Laboured breathing. Unconsciousness.
    		Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
    		Fresh air, rest. Artificial respiration if indicated. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN

    		• Protective gloves.
    		Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower. Refer for medical attention.
  • EYES
    		• Redness. Pain.
    		Safety goggles.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
    		• Nausea. Vomiting (further see Inhalation).
    		Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
    		Rinse mouth. Refer for medical attention.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment (extra personal protection: complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus).
    		Separated from strong oxidants, strong bases, strong acids, food and feedstuffs, strong reducing agents.
    		Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

     CLEAR COLOURLESS LIQUID , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
     The substance decomposes on heating or on burning producing very toxic fumes (hydrogen cyanide, nitrous oxides). Reacts violently with strong acids producing highly toxic hydrogen cyanide. Attacks some plastics.

    		ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, through the skin and by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
     No indication can be given about the rate in which a harmful concentration in the air is reached on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
     The substance and its vapour irritate the eyes. Exposure at high levels may result in respiratory distress, convulsions and unconsciousness.
